Another small village, just 3km from the maison is Fierville les Mines. The thing that sets this village apart is its working restored windmill, set on top of the hill. French, mill, moulin, from Old French molin, mill, from Late Latin molīnum. There is a carpark, visitors centre and good restaurant beside the mill. Regular events are staged here, where often the old farming technics are demonstrated and flour ground. Like all good french events, it usually involves lunch taken outdoors, on long communal tables, often with a wood cooked lamb. The views from beside the mill, of the surrounding countryside are stunning.
